World Design Capital Valencia 2022

The ecosystem and maturity of Valencian design led the World Design Organization to designate Valencia as the World Capital of Design 2022 in a global project that was not just an agenda of events but the beginning of a change, an initiative that went beyond the local to become a project of national dimension and international projection that positioned the Region of Valencia, and by extension the Spanish design ecosystem, as the World Capital of creative talent.

With more than 300 activities on the programme, design is already part of Valencian public opinion today, taking over the city’s cultural offer in fifty spaces in 2022 whose data shows historical records of visitors (37,000 nationals and 34,000 foreigners) to content and exhibitions of the World Design Capital Valencia 2022 program generating a direct tourist impact of 29 million euros and an impact in the media quantified in 38 million euros of economic return in the written press between 2019 and 2022.
